Peran Pemuda Melalui Learning Community dalam Menghadapi Perubahan Iklim di Kota Pekalongan
Main Article Content
Abstract
The purpose of this article is to address the challenges of climate change that affect the world, particularly in the city of Pekalongan. As an antithesis to the climate change problem, the author formulates the role of youth through learning communities in responding to climate change in Pekalongan. Social issues within the community include the lack of climate change outreach, the absence of local content related to disaster prevention in schools, and the prevailing myth that tidal flooding (rob) is caused by the anger of the guardian of the northern coast. As a result, the community tends to be resigned to the situation and blame external forces, lacking self-awareness and knowledge regarding climate change. In addressing climate change, education on climate change is needed as a foundational basis for building public awareness. This study employs a literature review method that examines all relevant literature associated with the research variables. The findings of this article describe the role of youth through learning communities in addressing climate change in Pekalongan, which can be carried out through strategies such as climate change–based Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL), grumungan for disaster mitigation, grumungan for waste management, and climate change campaigns on social media. The results of this study provide new insights into how youth, through learning communities, can serve as a solution in the public education process for addressing climate change in Pekalongan.
